A bioreactor refers to device or system designed to grow cells or tissues in the context of cell culture. These devices are being developed for use in tissue engineering or biochemical engineering.These bioreactors are commonly cylindrical, ranging in size from litres to cubic metres, and are often made of stainless steel.
As an ideal cell bioreactor, it should aim at achieving high-density proliferation of cells and efficiently secreting target products. The high density of animal cells depends on many factors and conditions. For example, low shear agitation does not destroy cell structure, suitable cell culture conditions (such as suitable tank temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen content), adequate nutrients (glucose, amino acids, fatty acids, etc.), metabolic waste accumulation, cell resistance Apoptotic factors, etc.
